From the Pastors Desk

Have you ever wondered what is important and desire to do those things that are of much value in the Kingdom of God?   Here are some of my thoughts on what is needed to keep yourself close to the Lord.  Remember there are many other thoughts on areas to help.  This is just a few of mine today.

From the Pastors desk….

Three things the Master asks of us,  and we who serve Him(Jesus) here below and long to see His Kingdom come may pray or give or go.  He needs them all – The Open Hand,  The Willing Feet,  The Praying Heart, to work together and to weave a threefold cord that shall not part.   –  Author Unknown

The Open Hand –   This is to reach out!  To help someone in need.  To care for others.

In Psalm 90:17  it says:  ” And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us;  And do confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.”

See in Ecclesiastes 9:10  it tells us  ….”whatever your hand finds to do, verily, do it with all your might…..”  Are you using your hands to do all that you can for the Lord?  He will help you as you submit and yield to Him.  If you look at Colossians 3:23 it says:  “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.”   So often we try to please man…. we neglect keeping our focus on what the Lord desires.  Stay with the Lord on all that you do and you will be blessed!   Remember to REACH out to others.

The Willing Feet – This is to walk and go where Jesus sends you.  Are you up to it?  How is your walk?

In Mark 16:15 it says:  (15)And He(Jesus) said to them,  “GO into all the world & preach the gospel to all creation.”   We must remember that walking and going is movement.   Expect to see victory in souls coming to Christ when you go.  You must also remember where you came from and what is happening in your life now.   In Psalm 40:2  it says: “He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay; and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.”   Praise the Lord for Jesus is our Rock and thanks be to God for salvation coming my way.  Remember in Isaiah 52:7  where it tells us…. “How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,  who announces peace and brings good news of happiness, who announces salvation, And says to Zion,  YOUR GLORY REIGNS!”   What a blessing for us who tell others about Jesus when we have willing feet to take us to those who need to hear!

The Praying Heart –  How is your prayer time?  How is your heart when you pray?  Are you praying what Jesus would want,  or will your prayers be your desire?   The Word of God tells us “Pray without ceasing” – 1 Thess. 5:17.    I know in my own personal life I seem to allow the concerns of the world to overtake me and my prayers faulter with what the Lord would say.   Remember in Philippians 4: 6  it tells us to be anxious for nothing.   It goes on to say “with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving let your request be made known to God…. ”   Then it follows with… “and the peace of God….”    See the head has not heard until the heart has listened. Are you listening today?   C.H. Spurgeon said “carve your name on hearts and not on marble”.    In other words let others know your concern and care.  Remember that “God will accept a broken heart but He must have all the pieces!   (Unknown Author)

So the very best exercise for the heart is to bend down several times a day to help someone else!   Keep praying from your heart and be sure to travel with your willing feet as you open up your hands to minister to others around you.   For the blessings of the Lord awaits those who do His will.

I am praying for you!  Thank you for letting me walk a while in your direction.  Let me know if I can give you a hand of love!  For I am there for you!   –  Pastor Gary
